The Lakes of Greenbrier

The History of The Lakes of Greenbrier

The Lakes of Greenbrier is a continuation of the Greenbrier project began by RusDun Farms, Inc. in 2000. As the decision was reached to exit the egg business the Russell family chose one of the most beautiful areas of the family farm to begin development. Cattle and hay are still produced on the farm that dates back to the mid 1800’s.

A master plan was developed in the late 90’s with the help of a professional team to plan for the orderly transition to a first class community. “Greenbrier” had four very successful phases developed from 2000 to 2006 with some lot buyers staying on the waiting list for over a year to purchase a lot. The Russells have always enjoyed working with individuals and top notch builders. The neighborhood enjoys one of the highest percentages of estate custom homes in the area.

The Lakes of Greenbrier continues the vision of large lots and the stubborn preservation of natural features. All roads are curving and the gently rolling topography has been saved. Most lots have large trees and many have water and/or park views. Phases 1 and 2 with a total of 54 lots were developed in 2007. Homes range in price from the low $500,000's to over 1M.

One of the most striking features of The Lakes of Greenbrier is the beauty and quality of the open space. When complete there will be a total of four lakes and over 6500 linear feet of walking trails. The center of the project has a large park with open areas for your enjoyment and recreation. The entrance contains a divided boulevard with a signature entrance of cedar arbors, trees, stacked stone and rail fencing.

The Lakes of Greenbrier was designed as your remedy to the “Cookie Cutter Blues” and is truly a neighborhood that embraces its rural heritage by preserving its best features. Please come see for yourself why so many people call Greenbrier and The Lakes of Greenbrier home.
